Offer of a study tour on flood risk and water management in the Netherlands – 19 Oct to 5 Nov 2017

Interested to discover the Dutch water story with a group of fellow Australian professionals – AUS2NED 2017?

Then join us on a unique and educational tour of the Netherlands water community – as we see first hand how flood risk responses can integrated into the broader fabric of urban and regional water management.  National overviews, modern and adapted historic urban design, coastal flood defence, Room for the River projects, building with nature, cultural water landscapes, community volunteers and collaboration across agency efforts – will all be on show.

The AUS2NED study tour program will offer insights into many interesting and varied projects throughout the Netherlands.  We are confident it will be a rewarding and educational experience for those who join us.  We have been welcomed by a diverse mix of Dutch professionals who will meet us every day and introduce you to their daily and ongoing flood risk and water management activity.

It is a well-paced and full 13 day plus 1 rest day program, interspersed with fun and hospitality and surprising Dutch destinations.  It will offer you invaluable knowledge building and network and sharing opportunities.

The mainly 2-3 night stays will be in a mix of 3-4 star hotels, chosen for their locations and Dutch style, both historical and modern.  We will travel by a mix of local trains and trams in cities and on our own motorcoach as we explore further afield.

Your Australian guide and hosts, Piet Filet – fluent in Dutch – and Annie Leggett will be there with you, to help you get the most out of your study tour and enjoy yourselves along the way.

Dates:   Depart from Australia 19Oct and  Return to Australia 05Nov 2017
