FMA is kindly welcoming any professionals with an interest in Flood Risk management to their biannual Queensland meeting. The group has a history as a peak advocacy group for flood risk management in local governments and over the years the membership has grown to include various State agencies and Commonwealth agencies such as the Bureau of Meteorology.

After a light lunch stay on if you like for an extended workshop on:
* Latest Developments in Flood Insurance – from a rep of Insurance Council of Australia
* New Planning Legislation, and Compensation Provisions – Susan Mercer Nightingale, Director Policy and Statutory Planning, Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Local Government, will discuss flood related aspects of Queensland’s new planning legislation. The new Planning Act 2016 will replace the Sustainable Planning Act 2009 on 3 July 2017.
